Patnaik soften his stand against center over NCTC issue

Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, has softened his stand against the Centre over the issue National Counter Terrorism Centre – NCTC. Speaking to media persons at Bhubaneswar today, Patnaik said the Director General of Police and Chief Secretary of Odisha will attend the NCTC meeting convened by Union Ministry of Home Affairs scheduled to be held at New Delhi. He, however, said terrorism being a national and sensitive issue must be discussed at the highest level.

He said terrorism is not only an issue for the states but for the country. He said Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh must convene a meeting of all the chief ministers before taking a final decision on NCTC.
