Patna Medical College Hospital affected by jr doctors strike

The functioning of Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) was badly hit with more than 750 junior doctors going on an indefinite strike from last night to press the state government to fulfil its promise of hiking their stipend.<br/><br/>State Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav described the strike as unwarranted and said the state government had already agreed, in principle, to raise the stipend to 25,000 rupees per month from the existing range of 13,000 rupees to 13,500 rupees per month.<br/><br/>He also said that 50 additional doctors have been arranged for the hospital for emergency and wards to ensure its proper functioning. The Minister appealed the striking doctors to resume work.<br/><br/>
