The Patna High Court has taken a serious note of irregular functioning of the Special CBI court trying the multi-crore fodder scam involving former Chief minister Lalu Prasad and other political leaders. The court has asked the Bihar Government to file its reply on a petition seeking direction to it to ensure regular working of the special CBI judge.A division bench comprising Justice T. Meena Kumari and Justice Vikash Jain passed the order on a PIL, filed by the suspended JD (U) MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh.AIR correspondent reports that, in this case the charge sheet had been submitted on April 5, 2003 and the CBI court had taken cognizance on April 21, 2003, despite the discharge petition filed by Lalu Prasad. The petitions of other political leaders, including Vidya Sagar Nishad and Jagdish Sharma, were dismissed recently but the trial is still pending before the CBI court.
