The Patna High Court has stayed a decision by the Bihar Assembly speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary’s decision to terminate the membership of four rebel Janta Dal (United) MLAs, accused of anti-party activities. In November, the speaker had terminated the membership of the four MLAs, who were accused of cross voting in the recently held Rajya Sabha elections in June. These four MLAs Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, Ravindra Rai, Rahul Sharma, and Neeraj Kumar Babloo had moved the Patna High Court following their disqualification, who were earlier suspended by the party. The four MLAs had moved the Patna High Court challenging the decision. In December, another set of four MLAs, also from the JD(U) and also accused of anti-party activities, also lost their Vidhan Sabha membership after a ruling by the speaker. Those MLA's have also approached the Patna High Court separately.
