The government today said Patna and Bodhgaya in Bihar have been selected for development under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission scheme. Replying to questions in the Rajya Sabha, the minister of state for urban development Saugata Roy said the centre has sanctioned 594 crore rupees for this purpose. He said Bihar government has submitted eight projects worth 395 crore. The minister informed the House that there were three centrally sponsored schemes of urban development ministry under implementation in Bihar namely Integrated Development of small and medium towns, Accelerated urban water supply programme and National Urban Information Systems since 1998 till now. Replying to another question, Mr. Roy said Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojana guidelines has not yet been finalised.
