Lok Janshaktai Party President Ram Vilas Paswan today met the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram in the capital and apprised him of the alleged atrocities committed on dalits in Gujarat. He also handed over a petition to the Home Minister demanding action against the feudal landlords of Banaskantha district, who forced some dalit families to flee the villages. Later addressing the media, Mr. Paswan held the Narendra Modi Government responsible for failure to protect the life, property and dignity of the dalits in the state and demanded Central Government's intervention on the issue.
