In Kerala, the passing-out parade of 330 cadets of the India Navy was reviewed by the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R.K. Dhowan at Ezhimala in Kannur district. 330 cadets of the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard and six cadets from friendly countries passed out from the Indian Naval Academy (INA). The cadets included 21 women from the Navy and the Coast Guard. Admiral R.K.Dhowan awarded medals to nine meritorious cadets. In his address, he called on the cadets to serve the country and the Navy with pride. He asked them to strive for excellence in service. Flag Officer Commander-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Sunil Lamba and INA Commandant Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar P were among those present to witness the parade. INA Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor Rear Admiral M.D. Suresh administered an oath of allegiance.
