Passenger safety topmost priority: Railway Board chief Ashwani Lohani

New Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani has said the safety of passengers will be the topmost priority of the railways. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters after assuming the charge in New Delhi today, he said cleanliness, improvement of stations and ending corruption and VIP culture will be other areas of focus. He said there are a lot of expectations and the railways will work hard to improve.<br/><br/>The Railway Ministry had yesterday appointed Mr. Lohani as the Chairman of the Board after A K Mital tendered his resignation following two derailments within a span of five days. Mr. Lohani, an officer of the railway mechanical service, had earlier served as the Divisional Railway Manager in Delhi.
