The government has said that discussion and passage of the Lokpal Bill in Parliament is the priority of the government. Talking to reporters outside Parliament House, Minister of State in the PMO V Narayanasamy said that the government has given notice to the Rajya Sabha Chairman for taking up the bill, as it is pending in the Upper House.

Responding to a question about hunger strike by social activist Anna Hazare, the Minister said that a letter has been written to Mr Hazare informing him about the government’s priority.
