Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said that passage of the Goods and Services Tax bill is the need of the hour. Mr Naidu told reporters outside Parliament that the Congress party had assured the government that it will get back to it after due consultations within the party. <br/><br/>He said, Congress now should come forward and support the government to pass the GST. Replying to a query on National Herald controversy, the Minister wondered why the Congress is raising the issue in both the Houses of Parliament as the matter is sub-judice. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister hoped that Parliament will function smoothly and opposition will cooperate as several key legislations are pending.
