Parts of North India reel under heat as Met department predicts thundershowers in parts of North East.<br/><br/>In Rajasthan, Barmer was the hottest place recording a maximum of 44.3 degrees Celsius followed by Jaisalmer at 42.6 degrees Celsius. However, light rains occurred at isolated areas in the state in past 24 hours. <br/><br/>Met department has predicted the weather to remain dry over the next 24 hours.<br/><br/>Searing heat intensified in most parts of Odisha today with Titlagarh remaining the hottest place in the state at 44 degree celsius. Western Odisha and some other areas sizzled in the gruelling heat as the mercury breached the 40 degree celsius mark in at least 15 places.<br/><br/>Weather remained mainly dry in in Bihar with Gaya being the hottest place at 41.6 degree celsius, which is one degree above normal.<br/><br/>In a prediction for next 24 hours, Met department said, heavy rain to take at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. It also said, thundersquall is very likely at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. <br/><br/>It also said, thunderstorm with gusty winds may occour at isolated places over south Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
