Parties request EC to deploy central forces in all Bihar booths

In Bihar leaders of different political parties today requested the Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi to ensure deployment of central para military forces at each and every booth, relaxation in opening of expenditure accounts and to allow use of alternative documents for casting votes.The Parties have also urged the commission to take note of devastating floods in Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran districts of the stateLeaders of Congress, BJP,JD (U),RJD,LJP,NCP,BSP,CPI and CPM submitted their separate memorandum to apprise the commission with their demands.AIR Patna Correspondent reports that almost all the parties requested the commission to put a ban on casting of votes by musclemen ad convicted persons.The Chief Election Commissioner S. Y. Quraishi along with two other Commissioners V.S. Sampath and H.S. Brahma are in Patna to review the poll preparedness for sixth phase Bihar Assembly elections.After meeting with the political parties the Chief election Commissioner is having discussions with the District Magistrates, SPs, DIG and IGs of those areas where the first and second phase of elections are to be held.The commission will review the remaining phase of elections tomorrow. The Chief Election Commissioner will also hold a meeting with Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and DGP of the state separately.The Chief Election Commissioner will also hold a meeting with Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and DGP of the state separately.The six phase poll for 243 seats begins from 21st of next month and concludes on 20th of November. Votes will be counted on November 24.
