In Manipur, with only two days left for campaigning for the assembly elections, leaders and candidates belonging to various political parties are making frantic efforts to woo the voters.AIR correspondent reports, Congress leader and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh on Tuesday made a whirlwind tour of Manipur valley to garner support for Congress candidates.NCP, Trinamool Congress and BJP also organized several street corner meetings in the valley on Tuesday.While addressing a public meeting, O Ibobi urged the people to come out of their homes and vote without any fear.In view of the prevailing law and order situation, strict vigil is being maintained across the state.The state government has also requested the army to open additional army posts in the hilldistricts particularly in Tamenglong following spurt in militant activities.Meanwhile, 135 polling personnel have left Churachandpur district headquarters along with poll materials for far flung and remote polling stations located at Bangai hill range on Assam-Mizoram border.
