Particulate Matter levels in Delhi, NCR decline

Particulate Matter levels in Delhi and NCR have declined further due to improvement in weather conditions and measures taken by implementing agencies at ground level. <br/><br/>The declining trend started on Sunday afternoon and continued even today. The air quality index stood at 335 at 7 this morning. According to the MeT department, the visibility remained at 800 to 1600 metres at 5.30 this morning. It forecast a clear sky during the day. <br/> <br/>Environment Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan yesterday said, the PM level reached Very Poor category as compared to severe category on Tuesday. He said all the measures and actions initiated by various agencies will be pursued vigorously. <br/><br/>The Minister also said, the hotspots have been already identified for local control measures, including sprinkling of water, regulation of construction activities, dust mitigation, as well as other actions for control measures. He said, the actions are being reviewed on a daily basis for getting feedback on the actions initiated by the implementing agencies.
