Parrikar inaugurates Digi-Dhan Mela in Goa's Panaji

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has appealed for opting cashless payment mode by using various electronic transaction methods. He said that cashless transactions will help curb tax evasion, and will also bring accountability in the economy. Several countries have already implemented cashless system, he added.<br/> <br/>Inaugurating Digi-Dhan Mela in Panaji today, he said, India needs to move forward in cashless mode, hence understanding the actual use of cashless transaction is very important.<br/> <br/>Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar expressed confidence that the State will march ahead in digital transactions as it has high literacy with digital awareness, and has implemented various electronic payments methods 10 to 15 years ago.<br/>Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik said that this initiative will root out corruption and black money from the country.
