Parliament's session begins in Nepal to elect new PM

In Nepal, a parliament's session has begun to elect a new prime minister. The Session started about five hours late as political parties were busy in last parleys for formation of a government.In a dramatic development, Unified CPN(Maoist) extended written support to CPN(UML) Chairman Jhaalanath Khanal, provided he can garner two-third majority in parliament.CPNUML sources claimed that Khanal has already received the support of 375 members and would need the another 26 more members to reach the two third majority in the 601 member House. If Khanal fails to do that, he would withdraw from the contest and Maoist Chairman Prachanda would continue in the fray.Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Prachanda, Nepali Congress Parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudyal and CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal are in the race for prime ministership of Nepal.
