<span style="color: #222222;">A Parliamentary panel has appreciated the efforts of Khadi and Village Industries Commission, KVIC, in promoting Khadi and Village Industries for providing employment opportunities in the rural as well as urban areas. <br />''<br />''The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry headed by Tiruchi Siva on Thursday tabled its report in the Parliament and appreciated KVIC for strengthening the rural economy.  The Committee said in its report that there is need to put more emphasis on creating awareness among the masses particularly youth, about the Khadi Institutions and the wide range of Khadi and Village Industries products for wider outreach to people. The Committee said KVIC touches the poorest of the poor by providing livelihood opportunities to them while keeping intact the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans.<br />''     <br />''The Committee said, to keep pace with the changing trends and global outlook, the KVIC should modernize their existing outlets and emporiums as well as open new outlets to attract youth towards Khadi products.<br />''   <br />''Expressing concern over the infringement of Khadi trademark by some entities by engaging in unauthorized sale of products in the name of Khadi, the Committee recommends that there should be a robust monitoring system in place to check such types of infringements.</span><br />
