Bahrain will go to its third parliamentary and municipal elections on 23rd October this year. This was announced by country’s King Bin Eisa Al Khalifa during the meeting of the cabinet. King Hamad urged all Bahrainis to be part of the voting process, saying that elections are a constitutional right to express views and to select representatives in the parliament. The election will be held for Bahrain’s 40-member lower chamber. The elections in Bahrain were held in 2002 and 2006 after parliament was scrapped in 1975. Some of Bahrain's opposition kept up the boycott demanding constitutional changes.
