Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar has termed the 26- day monsoon session of Parliament, which concluded today, as productive. <br/><br/>The session, which commenced on 17th of July, had 19 sittings in all. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Mr Kumar said, the productivity of the Lok Sabha was 77.94 per cent and that of Rajya Sabha 79.95 per cent. <br/><br/>During the session, 17 bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha, which passed 14 bills. The Rajya Sabha passed nine bills during the session. 13 bills were passed by both the Houses.<br/><br/>He also said, a special discussion was held on 9th of this month to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Quit India Movement launched in 1942 by Mahatma Gandhi.<br/>In reply to a question on OBC Constitution Amendment Bill, which was not passed by the Rajya Sabha, Mr Kumar criticised Opposition Congress for obstructing its passage.<br/><br/>He said the government is committed to give Constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes. He also said the government will not pass any bill in the din.
