Parliamentarians today paid tributes to former Lok Sabha Speaker M Ananthasayanam Ayyangar on his birth anniversary. <br/><br/>Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Dr M Thambi Durai, senior Parliamentarian L.K. Advani and several Members of Parliament and former Members of Parliament paid floral tributes at the portrait of Mr Ayyangar at the Central Hall of Parliament House. <br/><br/>M A Ayyangar was a veteran freedom fighter and eminent parliamentarian. He was a member of the Central Legislative Assembly, Constituent Assembly, Provisional Parliament and First to Third Lok Sabha. He was the Deputy Speaker of first Lok Sabha. <br/><br/>He also served as the Deputy Speaker of the Constituent Assembly and Deputy Speaker of the Provisional Parliament. He also served as the Governor of Bihar.
