Aam Aadmi Party MP, Bhagwant Mann today submitted his reply to the Lok Sabha Committee and denied having violated any security protocol while recording video of the Parliament Complex. Sources said, in his five-page letter, Mr Mann, however, said if the committee feels that he has committed a mistake, he is ready to tender unconditional apology. The nine-member panel, headed by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, has summoned Mr Mann this afternoon.

It is holding meetings on daily basis and in the last three days, the panel met Delhi Police Commissioner, Joint Secretary of Parliament Security and internal staff members, who were on the duty at that time, when the recording was done. The committee feels that the incident has exposed the security system of Parliament. It has to submit its report to Speaker Sumitra Mahajan by the 3rd of next month.

On Monday, Ms Mahajan had set up the panel saying the video incident put the Parliament security in peril. She also asked Mr Mann not to attend the House till a decision on the matter is taken. Last week, the MP had recorded a video of Parliament complex and uploaded it on social media. The issue had created uproar in both the Houses.
