The Parliament will be hosting a farewell programme today inside its Central Hall for the outgoing President Pranab Mukherjee. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has requested all the members to attend the function.<br/><br/>The programme will begin at 5:30 in the evening and will be addressed by the Speaker Ms. Mahajan and Vice President Hamid Ansari, Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the function.<br/><br/>Last evening, the Prime Minister hosted a dinner at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi in honour of the outgoing President. Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of some states, and senior politicians attended the programme.<br/>On Friday, Chiefs of Staff Committee had hosted a farewell Banquet for Mr. Mukherjee. Prime Minister, Defence Minister, Service Chiefs and other senior military and civilian officials of the Services and the Defence Ministry had attended the Banquet.<br/><br/>Mr. Mukherjee's five-year term of office at the top constitutional post ends tomorrow. The President elect Ram Nath Kovind will be sworn in on Tuesday.
