The opposition demand for the dismissal of the Telecom Minister Mr. A. Raja today rocked both Houses of Parliament leading to repeated adjournment in the pre lunch session. The Rajya Sabha also witnessed uproarious scenes and adjournments over the issue the alleged involvement of a Central Minister in an illegal arms deal with a Bangladeshi dealer. The trouble started in both houses from the word go in both Houses with AIADMK members trooping into the well raising pitch over their demand for the sacking of Mr. Raja. The Lok Sabha was twice adjourned over the issue first till noon and then till 2 p.m. The Samajwadi Party and RJD members were also demanding caste based census.<br/>In the Rajya Sabha the proceedings were disrupted over the issue of 2-G spectrum scam and the House was first adjourned for 15 minutes and then till noon. When the house re-assembled Mr Moinul Hasan of the CPIM raised the issue of alleged involvement of a Central Minister in the illegal arms deal during the zero hour. Stating that the matter is of serious security concern, he wanted the government to respond. Joining him the members from the Left Parties and the BJP persisted with the demand to react. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Arun Jaitley said the issue involves compromising with the sovereignty of the country and the government must respond. Mr Sitaram Yechuri of the CPIM also expressed similar sentiments. The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. V Narayanasamy said that the members should give a substantive motion in this regard. Mr Prithviraj Chavan, Minister of State in PMO, said that the government views all issues raised during the Zero Hour as serious. But, the opposition insisted that the government should at least commit that it will examine the matter and come back to the house.
