Parliament passes Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2021

<span style="color: #222222;">The Parliament has passed the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2021 with Rajya Sabha passing it today. The Bill was cleared in the Lok Sabha on Friday. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Bill seeks to modify the list of Scheduled Castes in Tamil Nadu. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Bill replaces the entry for the Devendrakulathan community with Devendrakula Velalar which includes Devendrakulathan, Kalladi, Kudumban, Pallan, Pannadi and Vathiriyan.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking on the Bill, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot said that no caste is being included and omitted with this legislation. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said, only the regrouping of some castes will be done so that the aspiration of these communities can be fulfilled. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Gehlot said the government is committed towards the welfare of the Scheduled Caste and several historic decisions were taken in this regard. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said, the Narendra Modi Government has developed Panch Tirth Five memorials associated with Dr B R Ambedkar, besides building the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in the national capital. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The five places are Dr Amedbkar's birthplace in Mhow, the place in London where he stayed while studying, Deeksha Bhoomi in Nagpur, Mahaparinirvan Sthal in Delhi and Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, Bhupender Yadav of BJP, A Navaneethakrishnan of AIADMK, Banda Prakash of TRS, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose of YSRCP, Prof Manoj Kumar Jha of RJD, Sanjay Singh of AAP, Dr Fauzia Khan of NCP, Union Minister and RPI leader Ramdas Athawale and Satish Chandra Mishra of BSP participated in the discussion. </span> <br />''
