Parliament has given its seal of approval to the President's Rule in Jharkhand with both the Houses adopting statutory resolutions to this effect today. While the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr Ajay Maken moved the resolution in the Lok Sabha, his colleague, Mr. Mullapally Ramachandran did it in the Rajya Sabha. The President, Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil, issued a proclamation on first of June this year bringing the state of Jharkhand under Central Rule. The resolution was adopted amidst uproar by the opposition, which was demanding a discussion on the price rise.
