Both houses of Parliament today congratulated space scientists on successful launch of the Radar Imaging Satellite-One (RISAT-1).

Making statements in both the houses, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. V. Narayanasamy said RISAT-1 is India's first indigenously developed Radar Imaging Satellite and the heaviest satellite launched till date.

He said, the satellite data will be of assistance to the activities of Agriculture, Paddy monitoring and also in the management of Natural disasters.
