Parliament completes 60 years tomorrow

Parliament will on Sunday celebrate its 60th Anniversary. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will hold Special Sittings to mark the occasion.

President Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil will address the members of both the Houses in the Central Hall of Parliament at 17.30 hours.

The President will release 5-rupee and 10-rupee coins besides releasing publications of the Secretariates of both the Houses.

Mr Rishang Keishing, who was a member of the first and the third Lok Sabha and Mr Resham Lal Jangde, a member of the first, second and ninth Lok Sabhas, will be felicitated on the occasion.

Vice- President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and the Lok Sabha Speaker, Meira Kumar will address the distinguished gathering.

All India Radio, Delhi will broadcast the function live. It can be heard from 5.25 p.m. onwards on Rajdhani channel i.e. 450.5 meters.
