‘Parliament adjourns till noon

With no solution yet to the standoff between the opposition and the government over the demand for a JPC probe, both Houses of Parliament were adjourned till noon. As has been the case for the last fortnight, the opposition stalled the proceedings today as well, shouting slogans and trooping into the wells of the houses to press their demand. Both the Opposition and the Congress have blamed each other for the impasse in Parliament and disruption of proceedings. Both sides are also sticking to their respective positions on the issue. While the Opposition is not ready to accept anything short off probe by JPC, the government has rejected it outright saying that the demand is politically motivated. However, before the uproar began, the members of the two houses remembered those killed in the Bhopal Gas Leak tragedy and called for supporting the surviving victims in every possible way. The members also stood in silence.
