Telangana issue stalled proceedings in both the Houses of Parliament with repeated adjournments and the two Houses could not transact any legislative business. The Lok Sabha witnessed two adjournments and the Rajya Sabha three before being adjourned for the day. The new Communal Violence Bill raised tempers in the Rajya Sabha with the opposition accusing the government of violating federal features of the constitution.
Some of the other issues that figured in the both the Houses were the killing of a student from Arunachal Pradesh in Delhi, inclusion of some backward castes in the list of Scheduled Castes and the Augusta Westland Helicopter deal.
