Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned for an hour, till noon today on several issues including Telangana.
As soon as the Lok Sabha met, members belonging to Congress, TDP and YSR-Congress from Seemandhra rushed to the podium and raised slogans in favour of United Andhra. Members from Tamil Nadu also trooped into the well, demanding the release of Tamil fishermen. At the same time, Shiromani Akali Dal members raised slogans on 1984 Delhi riots. Speaker Meira Kumar appealed to the agitated members to go back to their seats and allow the House to run. As noisy scenes continued, she adjourned the House till noon.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the House till noon as TDP members from Andhra Pradesh, rushed to the well opposing the move for creation of Telangana. Members from Tamil Nadu also trooped into the well on the arrest of Tamil fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy.
Earlier, as the House met for the day, Mr Ansari appealed to the members not to rush to the well. He said, the Chair has no difficulties to discuss the two issues of death of a student from North East in Delhi and Tamil fishermen. He asked members to give notices on their issues for discussion in the House.
