Parliament adjourned till noon after uproar over various issues

Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned till 12 noon following uproar over different issues.

While the Lok Sabha was adjourned over the issue of alleged police action against Marathi-speaking people in Belgaum, Karnataka, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned over the alleged bugging of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's house.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon before the question hour could take place today.

The Opposition including Congress and JD(U) demanded discussion on the reported bugging at the residence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.

Members insisted on a discussion, even though, the Home Minister Rajnath Singh clarified saying that there is no truth in the reports which appeared in the media. He said the concerned Minister too had denied any such devices being found in his residence. The house was earlier adjourned for 15 minutes on the same issue.

Lok Sabha was adjourned till noon on the issue of violence against Marathi speaking people in Belgaum district of Karnataka. As soon as the House met for the day members of Shiv Sena raised slogans and trooped into the well showing photographs of the alleged police action against Marathi-speaking people on Saturday last.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan tried to pacify the agitating members but they remained unrelenting, forcing her to adjourn the House. Earlier, the House led by the Speaker paid tributes to 7 Air Force personnel who died in a chopper crash in Sitapur, Uttar Pardesh on Friday.
