Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned till noon today on
different issues. Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, arrest of Tamil Nadu
fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy and inclusion of certain backward classes
people in the Scheduled Caste category were raised by members.
In the Lok Sabha, as soon as the House met for the day, members from
Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Samajwadi Party trooped into the well
showing placards and raising slogans. Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned
the House till noon.

In the Rajya Sabha, members belonging to BSP rushed to the well
demanding inclusion of people belonging to seventeen backward classes
in the Scheduled Caste category. They were supported by members
belonging to Samajwadi Party, who also trooped in the well. As noisy
scenes continued, Chaiman Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the House
till noon.
