Both Houses of Parliament have been adjourned till 2 pm after uproar over the Telangana Bill. Earlier both Houses were adjourned till noon today, mainly on the Telangana and Indian Fishermen issues with members from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu stalling the proceedings.
Left parties demanded that the Kasturi Rangan Committee's report on environmental issues of Western Ghats should not be implemented.
In the Lok Sabha, Congress, TDP and YSR Congress members from Seemandhra stormed into the well of the house against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Union Ministers from Seemandhra including D. Purandeswari and K.S. Rao also trooped into the well. TDP member from Telangana, Ramesh Rathod also rushed into the well, in support of Telangana. DMK Members from Tamil Nadu were also seen in the well on Tamil fishermen issue.
Members from North-East also stormed the well on Bodoland issue. As unruly scenes continued, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House for an hour till noon.
As soon as the Rajya Sabha met for the day, members from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu trooped into the well raising slogans and showing placards in favour of their demands. TDP Members raised slogans for United Andhra while Congress members showed placards in support of Telangana.
Sporting black bands on their eyes, AIADMK Members protested against the arrest of Tamil fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy. DMK Members were also in the well raising slogans for the release of Tamil fishermen.
Left party members demanded that the Kasturi Rangan Committee's report on ecology in Western Ghats be not implemented. Chairman Mohd. Hamid Ansari adjourned the House for an hour as noisy scenes continued.
