Parliament adjourned for the day over 2G scam

The 2G spectrum issue once again rocked both Houses of Parliament leading to their adjournment for the day. This is the third working day in a row that the parliament has been stalled by the Opposition over the persistent demand for JPC probe into the allocation of 2G spectrum. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were first adjourned till noon and then for the day following pandemonium.As soon as the two Houses met for the day, the BJP led NDA and AIADMK and several other members were up on their feet demanding probe by the JPC with many of them raising the pitch in the well of the House.In the Lok Sabha, the question hour continued for a few minutes with Congress and DMK members demanding that the house should be allowed to run. However, as the commotion in the House continued the Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar adjourned the House till noon. When the House reaasembled amidst din, two Bills were introduced and papers lay after which the chair adjourned the House as noisy scenes continued.In the Rajya Sabha, the Chairman Mohd Hamid Ansari said that the members are violating the rules even as he pleaded for the house to run. With several opposition members sloganeering in the well the House, the Chairman adjourned the house till 12 o clock. When the House reassembled, the chaos continued and the chair adjourned the House for the day after laying of papers. Our correspondent says that inspite of the resignation by Communication and IT Minister A. Raja the unrelenting opposition persisted with the demand for JPC probe.
