AIADMK today forced adjournment of Parliament on the issue of reported investment in real estate business abroad by former Home Minister P. Chidambaram's son. Waving newspaper reports, the party members trooped into the wells of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha since morning forcing repeated adjournments. The Rajya Sabha witnessed six adjournments, while the chair adjourned Lok Sabha four times on the issue. According to the newspaper report, Chidambaram's son has made investments in real estates in several countries including London, Dubai, Sri Lanka, France and USA.<br/><br/>In Rajya Sabha, Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien described the action of AIADMK members as irresponsible and murder of democracy. He said, the Chair has nothing to do with their complaint, and they should approach the government for appropriate action, as Chidambaram or his son is not members of Parliament. The agitating members did not allow Health Minister J.P. Nadda to move the motion of thanks to President's address to the joint session of Parliament.<br/><br/>As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, AIADMK members rushed to the well demanding action in this regard. Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said if members give proper notice, the issue could be discussed and government is open to a debate. Post -lunch, the Speaker allowed P Venugopal of AIADMK to raise the matter. He spoke about the alleged corruption charges against Mr Chidambaram's son and demanded action.Intervening,Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, the government will proceed in the matter as per law. But the agitating members continued with slogan shouting on the issue forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House finally for the day.
