Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day today on FDI issue with opposition expressing strong resentment against the government's decision. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were earlier adjourned for one hour till noon.
In the Lok Sabha, the entire opposition shouted slogans against the government's decision allowing 51 per cent of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Multi-Brand Retail Sector with some of them waving banners and placards.
Amidst noisy scenes, some of the MPs belonging to Andhra Pradesh, led by Telangana Rashtra Samiti Chief, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao, trooped into the well of the House in support of their demand for a separate state of Telangana.
In the Rajya Sabha, the entire opposition trooped into the well of the House raising slogans against the government's decision allowing FDI in the multi-brand retail sector.
Some of the agitating members were seen tearing the statement on FDI by the Commerce and Industry minister, Mr. Anand Sharma, which was earlier laid in the House.
The House was earlier adjourned for one hour till noon on the same issue. The Deputy Chairman, Mr K Rehman Khan adjourned the House amidst noisy scenes.
