Parliament adjourned

Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned till noon over different issues. The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till noon following uproar by several members belonging to Samajwadi Party, RJD and JD (U). As soon as the question hour began today, the members of these parties trooped into the well of the house demanding quota within quota in the women's reservation bill. Although the question hour went on for some time, the Speaker, Mrs Meira Kumar adjourned the house when the unrelenting members continued sloganeering in the well of the house.<br/><br/> The Rajya Sabha Chairman, Mohammed Hamid Ansari, adjourned the house after some members from Samajwadi Party and RJD persisted with their demand for the implementation of the Ranganath Mishra Commission report. They were shouting slogans to press their demand. <br/> <br/><br/> <br/>Earlier, the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Mohammed Hamid Ansari said women have to be included in the decision making process of our country and rights of women need to be respected. As soon as the House met for the day, the Chairman made a reference on the occasion of international women's day. He said women should be protected at all costs to ensure continuous progress and bright future for our country. Mr. Ansari said as today marks the centenary of International Women's Day, all of our duty is to focus on issues of domestic violence, societal evils relating to women, illiteracy, gender discrimination, health and malnutrition concerning women, especially those from the rural background. The Chairman said our endeavour should be to secure gender equality and development.<br/><br/> <br/>
