Parl to discuss FDI issue with provision of voting next week

Parliament will discuss FDI in multi-brand retail issue with a provision of voting next week. The Lok Sabha will take up a motion to this effect. Speaker Meira Kumar informed the House today that she has received 30 notices for discussion under a rule that entails voting. The decision to hold discussion on the issue in the Rajya Sabha was taken in the all party meeting convened by Chairman Mohammed Ansari this afternoon.

Earlier, the House witnessed adjournments with members pressing for discussion on FDI in retail and reservations in promotions for SC and ST candidates in government jobs.

AIR correspondent adds that except for laying of papers both the Houses of Parliament could not transact any legislative business in the last four sittings.
