The coal blocks allocation issue rocked Parliament for the 8th day today forcing the adjournment of both the Houses. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till Monday amidst noisy scenes with the BJP members trooping into the well of the House in support of their demand for the Prime Minister's resignation. Earlier, both the Houses were adjourned for one hour till Noon. Some of the treasury bench members countered the slogans raised by the BJP members. In the Lok Sabha, even as the uproar continued, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Pawan Kumar Bansal read out the government business for the next week.
The scene in the Rajya Sabha was no different. Amidst the din, the House adopted a motion extending the time limit for presenting the Report of the Select Committee on the Lok Pal and Lokayuktas Bill, 2011. The Motion, moved by Prof Ram Gopal Yadav of the Samajwadi Party sought the extension of time till the last day of the first week of the Winter Session. The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Mr Rajiv Shukla, gave the details of the government business for the next week.
