Parl Session: LS adjourned for day,RS till 2.30pm; FDI among issues raised by members

The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day and the Rajya Sabha till 2.30 PM on a host of issues including Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). As soon as the Lower House reassembled after its first adjournment, Opposition members started shoutig slogans to roll back FDI in the retail sector. Earlier, the Prime Minister introduced the
new members who joined his Council of Ministers recently.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the second time till 2.30 PM on several issues. Amidst the din, Vice Chairman E M S Nachiappan allowed the laying of papers. Congress member Shantaram Naik presented a report of the Select Committee of the Rajya Sabha on the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Bill, 2011.

The BSP members continued shouting slogans in the well of the House demanding the passage of a bill providing for reservation in promotions to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, forcing the Presiding Officer to adjourn the House till 2.30 P.M.
