Parl panel calls for withdrawal Road Safety and Traffic Management Bill

A Parliamentary panel has called for withdrawal of the Bill concerning Road Safety and Traffic Management. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Wednesday, chairman of Parliamentary standing committee on transport, tourism and culture Sitaram Yechury said the National Road Safety and Traffic Management Bill 2010 which was introduced in the Lok Sabha on May 4th this year should be replaced with a comprehensive legislation with holistic perspective to address the entire gamut of road safety. He also informed that the panel has expressed great concern that there is no National Road Safety Policy till date.
