Parl budget session starts tomorrow with President's address

The Budget session of Parliament begins tomorrow with President Pranab Mukherjee addressing the joint sitting of both houses of Parliament. Rail Budget will be presented on 26th followed by economic survey. The general budget will be presented on 28th of this month.

Alleged kickbacks in the VVIP chopper deal, Home minister’s remarks on saffron terror, rising prices of essential commodities and deregulation of diesel price are likely to hog the limelight during the budget session.

Apart from financial business relating to Railway and General Budgets for 2013-14, the session will mainly devote to the motion of thanks on the President's address. 55 bills including Land Acquisition Bill, National Food Security Bill, Lokpal and Lokayuktas Bill and Communal Violence Bill have been identified for consideration and passing during the session spread over 79 days in two phases.
