Parl adjournment over alleged coal block allotment scam

Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned till Noon over alleged scam in the auction of coal blocks in the country. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for 15 minutes as the BJP-led members demanded the suspension of question hour. Quoting newspaper report, they said the exchequer had lost over 10.67 lakh crores of rupees in the allocation of coal blocks.

They alleged that the allocation was done to private parties without following proper bidding process. The situation was same when the House re-assembled at 1120 hours. As the noisy scenes continued, Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the House for the second time till 12 Hours.

The Lok Sabha also witnessed similar scenes over the issue forcing the Speaker Mrs Meira Kumar to adjourn the House. Earlier, the House made an obituary reference to the people who lost their lives in a train accident in Andhra Pradesh.
