Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned, the Lok Sabha for the day today on several issues including the hike in petrol and diesel prices. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 PM. Law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, the incident of police high handedness with a woman in Punjab, safety of tribals in West Bengal and the issue of Tamils in Sri Lanka were also raised by agitating members who trooped into the well forcing the Presiding Officers to adjourn the Houses. However, BJP members continued to raise slogans from their seats.
Similar scenes were witnessed in the Rajya Sabha also. Deputy Chairman Prof P J Kurien, adjourned the House till 2 PM amidst uproar.
