Parl adjourned till noon over coal block issue

Both Houses of Parliament have been adjourned till noon today over the issue of coal block allocations. As soon as the Lok Sabha met, BJP members rushed to the well shouting slogans in support of their demand for the Prime Minister's resignation. Some DMK members were seen waving placards demanding the smooth functioning of the House. However, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House till noon as the din continued.

The Rajya Sabha also witnessed noisy scenes on the same issue. In the midst of the din, Chairman Dr. Hamid Ansari called for taking up the first listed question relating to the progress made in the construction of a railway track in Jammu and Kashmir. The reply by the Minister of State for Railways, Bharat Sinh Solanki, could not be heard in the noise. Later, the Chair adjourned the House for an hour.
