Parl adjourned till noon; FDI in retail among issues raised by Opp

Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned for one hour till noon with the opposition parties mainly demanding the rollback of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the multi-brand retail sector. As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, DMK members rushed to the well of the House demanding a discussion on the remarks by a former CAG officer. Trinamool Congress members were also seen demanding increased number of subsidized cooking gas cylinders. The BJP and Left members also raised slogans against the FDI policy.
The scene was no different in the Rajya Sabha with the BJP and Left members demanding a discussion on FDI and the DMK raising the 2G spectrum issue. Despite repeated requests by Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari, the agitating members continued to raise slogans in support of their demands forcing the adjournment of the House till noon.
