Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned till noon today on several issues including the hike in the petroleum prices. Law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, the incident of police high handedness with a woman in Punjab and the issue of Tamils in Sri Lanka were also raised by agitating members. As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, most of the opposition members trooped to the well shouting slogans in support of their demands. Amidst the din, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House till noon.
Similar scenes were witnessed in the Rajya Sabha. Following noisy scenes, Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the House.
