Double Gold medalist with world record in Javelin throw in the Paralympic games Devendra Jhajhariya has been recommended for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award with hockey player Sardar Singh. It is first time that a Para Olympian has been recommended for the such award. Expressing his gratitude, Mr Jhajhariya told AIR that it is a great moment for him and for all the Para Olympians. He said, that this has recognized his achievements. Mr. Jhajhariya said that this will encourage the morale of the Para Olympians in the country and more players will come to participate in the para Olympic games.
