Panjab’s Special Narcotic Cell recovers 28 kg of heroin

The Special Narcotic Cell of Punjab Police today arrested two men and claimed to have recovered 28 kg of heroin worth 140 Crore from their possession. According to the information the two suspects were nabbed last night at Grand Trunk Road at the outskirts of the city when they were traveling in a Tavera SUV car. The vehicle was intercepted by the police at a barrier on the G.T. Road bypass on the outskirts of this holy city.<br/><br/>Two men, Rajinder Singh, who hails from a border village, and Baljit Singh of Delhi's Hari Nagar, New Delhi were arrested.<br/><br/>P.K. Rai, SSP Amritsar told media since most of the consignments were seized by the police had a connection with Pakistan, they do not rule out the possibility of Pakistan based smugglers' connection with this recovery.
