The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the concessionaire Soma Isolex Rollways to complete the six laning of Panipat-Jalandhar highway before March next year else pay a fine of 50 crore rupees.It said company's Director would also bear penalty of 5 crore rupees.The directions were given by bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Mahesh Grover while hearing a bunch of petitions on the project yesterday. The court also directed the governments of Punjab and Haryana to adhere to the commitments of clearing all obstacles in the completion of the project within the timeframe else Chief Secretaries of both the states would be held responsible for the delay.The director of the concessionaire has given undertaking before the court the Haryana section of the project would be completed by December this year and the Punjab section by March next year.
